Free Hambach Prisoners!

On November 6, we gather in front of the JVA (jail) in Cologne-Ossendorf in solidarity with the prisoners from the Hambach Forest.

Sabotage action Monday night

This claim of responsibility was just found at Indymedia:

Last night we sabotaged eight construction machines in the area which is to be prepared for the opencast mining.

At five excavators, two bulldozers, a road roller, and another, expensive-looking thing, all hydraulic hoses and electrical cables that were reached, were cut. The tanks and oil filters were filled with sand, all the windows smashed, and other mechanical components sabotaged. Despite all the security measures taken by RWE, this action was carried out with no problem. (more…)

Show your solidarity !!!

Still 3 compas of the forest occupation in prison!

It is important that the people within the prison walls know that they are not alone! And we do not want to accept peacefully when our compas are locked away. If you have long toyed with the idea of making an action against lignite mining or environmental destruction, do it now! Spontaneous demonstrations, sabotages, hanging banners – the imagination knows no boundaries. And declare your solidarity with the three prisoners in your action statement.
You can also make solidarity photos with banners, and send them to us.
But direct aid is needed as well:

Hambach railway blockade near Buir

“If you break our noses, we stop your trains!”

October 24, 2015 This morning about 5:30, activists of the anti-lignite-movement again stopped a coal train on the Hambach railway. The Hambach railway transports coal from the Hambach mine to nearby power plants. The action came as a direct response to the violent arrest of two Compas on Thursday. The nose of one of them was broken.
During the action, the two people chained themselves near or below the coal train on the rails. Train services on the Hambach railway was thus interrupted for at least 8 hours. The action is just (13:30) stopped by the police. Unfortunately we currently have no information to which police station the Compas were brought. The train service is interrupted as before. The police just begins to release the activists from the track.

COP21 bike mass

We just received this e-mail:

Hi,

I’m trying to set up a bike mass from Hambach forest to Paris for COP21. I seek people willing to come along.

The departure date should be between the 17th and the 22th of November depending on how quick we plan to ride. Keep me posted if you know people willing to join!

There is an international call for convergence in Paris to demonstrate against Cop21

International Call out against COP21

From November 28 to December 12 we will fight against the COP21 held in Paris. 195 governments and countless business leaders will gather to decide useless measures in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In fact , all they will discuss is the reasonable amount of pollution industries can release in the atmosphere. The new CO2 quotas
are nothing but another way for rich countries to grant themselves the right to pollute with impunity.

We won’t let those who are responsible of global warming and the commodification of every life form hold their umpteenth masquerade peacefully!

The one and only solution to this matter is to end capitalism and productivism, not a summit in a militarized zone.

Those in Europe and the world who cannot stand this deadly system must converge in Paris against the COP21!
Multiple demonstrations and discussions will be held during the conference. Come with your initiatives and your will to create other ways of living, far away from the dictates of the economy.

Accommodation and reception places will be provided. The following actions are planned:

  • Saturday November 28 : Gathering of the convoys from the ZADs (zones to be defended against urban projects)
  • Sunday November 29 : Demonstration
  • From November 29 to December 12 : Multiple action days
  • Saturday, December 12 : Closing day, and action day

Ginster answered on October 28th:

On november 26th, a group of cyclists of cooperide coming from Copenhagen will reach the meadow. We ride on that day through the lignite basin to the Hambach Forest. Next day there is a meeting with the runners of “Run for your life”, who run that morning through the forest. In the afternoon the cyclists will ride on to Aachen. Friendly bikers are always welcome to the cycling tour through the lignite basin. People who want to ride on with cooperide to Paris, should contact them (due to the accommodation, the places for co-riders might be already taken).

Addendum to the blockade of the Hambach railway on Oct. 24th 2015

Reported are sexist attacks on the part of security guards. An activist in the Lock-On was illuminated with a flash-light while the secu conveyed his rape fantasies in detail. Apparently, one secu also boasted that he was the one who broke our compa’s nose on Thursday. We wonder whether RWE orders sexist attacks by its employees (which after all are also the employees of subcontractors), whether they promote them consciously, or whether this happens without their knowledge (then it should be known by now). In that case, an internal investigation would certainly be appropriate, together with an indication that something like this just is not on. The question is also why real grievous bodily harm by the part of the secus again stay unpunished, while the abused persons sit in jail.
From the police station is reported that the female activist had to completely undress, although (because?) male socialized police officers were still present. Also that should not work that way.
Freedom to the prisoners!

Another coal train blockade on the Hambachbahn

„If you break our noses, we will stop your trains!“

This morning at about half past 5, tere have again been activists of the anti-browncoal-movement stopping a train on the Hambachbahn. The Hambachbahn is transporting brown coal from the open cast mine Hambach to the power plants around. The action has been done as a direct response to the violent arrest of two companions. One of them had his nose broken.
During the action, both people chained themselves near or on the stopped coal train to the rails. The train traffic on the Hambachbahn was stopped for at least 3 1/2 hours. The action has most likely already been stopped by the police. Unfortunately, we don‘t have any information about the police station our companions have been brought to.
We will update you as soon as possible.

Again activists from the Hambach forest in prison

Since the 23rd of October 2015 two of our compas are imprisoned being accused of assault. At the 22. of October 2015 the annual cutting works in the Hambach forest began.
An autonomous group of two people being on their way in the forest did not return.
Only the next morning we got the information that the missing persons are in custody.
One of them was said to be in Hürth, the police didn‘t give any information about the other saying the person rejected a lawyer.
During the day we got the news that both people were brought before the committing magistrate. Their physical condition remained unknown to us.
In the evening we were informed that both persons were in detention on the accusation of attacking RWE workers. One of them got his nose broken while being arrested.

Since 1947 RWE destroyed nature in the Rhineland, resettles whole villages and steals the living space of humans and animals to get one of the most dirty and inefficient energy carriers: brown coal.
A living forest is killed for a dying energy sources of our time.
Of former 5000 ha of forest only 600 ha remain and this year 68 more will be cut down.
To resist against this practice the forest occupation in the Hambach forest existed since 2012 having been complemented with a meadow occupation in 2013.

arrests for online boycott of Toro de la Vega

Posted on October 16, 2015 by Capità Pirata

On the morning of October 16, there was a simultaneous operation in various parts of the state, with the participation of police armed with machine guns to arrest five people for online boycotting the ‚Toro de la Vega‘. One of them is from Borges del Camp and is in dependencies of the National Police of Tarragona.

From the Pirate Confederation, Pirates of Catalonia and the Pirate Movement, we claim the release without charges immediately for all detainees and the immediate treatment of those responsible for these events. This action cannot be considered a crime, but a peaceful claim against a cruel and inhuman act carried out in Spain.

At the same time we demand the elimination of the events of torture and animal abuse, of the ‚gag laws‘ and all repressive laws against public protests, whether on the Internet or on the street.

Update (18: 30h): It seems that finally there was only one arrest in connection with this case, although we had been informed about five detainees. The arrested is a member of PACMA.
